~ On The Scene With Tracey Stones ~ Taking a Pause for the Cause!
Last weekend I headed west to Maynard’s Entertainment, where they hosted a benefit for a security guard, staff member and close friend to the establishment, that lost his life in a tragic work incident. He was killed while working at the live entertainment establishment and private club, which he loved and frequented as a friend when he was not working. The owners of the venue lost a dear friend, close customer and one of their own, when they lost Mike Brinkley the security guard, killed after an altercation on the premises on the night of April 22, 2017.
His family lost a caring father and faithful husband. It has rocked their world and as a means to help them put the piece back together. Owner Matt Price opened the doors last weekend for a special night of giving back to the family, with two young daughters trying to move forward in their last year of high school and first year of college. Both girls were out for the great night of community love and amazing music. Maynard’s Entertainment is happy to collect donations for these girls, as they face their formidable years without a father. Checks can be made payable to Layla or Alyssa Brinkley and mailed to 2022 Drummersville Rd. Seven Springs NC 28578.
They offered a 50/50 raffle which brought in a total of $1422, which was donated in full to the family! An auction was also held where they raised money with donated goods. The venue donated the $20 entry fee collected from patrons all night!
On stage to keep the crowd rocking were The Adam Hill Band, The Blake Kearney Band and Digger Foot, who all donated their time and for an awesome cause, in offering hope and healing to a family in need.
Digger Foot will return to the stage for a full on rocking night of great music on Saturday September 9, 2017. The Adam Hill Band is scheduled for a return on October 28, 2017. Make plans to come out for a rocking night of great music.
