Looking to our west and just a quick drive from our area, there is a great event happening and you can bring the whole family ! The site location is 201 Pogue St., Raleigh, NC. The folks that are helping to make Groove in the Garden happen will be featuring a double bill of quality entertainment. The Pour House Music Hall located at 224 S Blount St., Raleigh, NC  will feature People’s Blues of Richmond and Dr. Bacon. Looking at their events page, this is what they want you to know about the acts on their stage:

People’s Blues of Richmond is a heavy-touring, blues-psych power trio from Richmond, Va. In the past two years, they’ve signed with Management Anonymous and Madison House Booking, recorded their third full-length studio album, released a 7-inch single with sought-after rock & roll producer Mark Neill (Black Keys, The Hives, J. Taking a pause for the cause I  found this Jim Jam Yappy Hour event happening at The Grove Winery located at 7360 Brooks Bridge Road, Gibsonville, NC.  And here are the details you should know:

There is Double Trouble on tap for Saturday night at The Blue Note Grill, located at 709 Washington St, Durham, NC. They are featuring two awesome bands for only $8 admission. They have great food and awesome service too. Music starts at 8 with Doug Prescott Band kicking things off. Following their fun set, you can groove with Willie Painter Band until closing!

Cotton & The CWT Band have a show tonight at The Point at Glenwood, located at 1626 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh, NC.They will be live from 10:30 pm til midnight.

Desperado Motorcycle Club Selma will be hosting their annual support party this afternoon. Doors open at noon to the public, and music will be provided by the Adam Hill Band starting at 3. Hill (photo below) is the guitar front for classic rock outfit Solid Ground as well as his own project. A $10 donation is required and bringing your own beer is frowned upon! Making our way back to the eastern side of the state, you can find Greenville’s own fun and funky groove band, Train Wreck who will be on stage at The Red Room located at 110 N Heritage St., Kinston, NC.
When talking to Adrian Watts, guitar and and vocalist, he wanted me to tell everyone that the band is collecting school supplies at every gig until the school season starts. So please, all contributions of school supplies are welcome. They will even accept monetary donations to buy the supplies that are still needed for the future shining stars. What a great opportunity for us all to pitch in and make a difference. You can help ensure a bright future for a kid and dance to a great band too! Does it get any better than that?

Looking to our North, you can find Mac n Juice Quartet will be at Ribeyes located at 1056 Cantle Ct., Williamston, NC helping to celebrate their Anniversary Party tonight live from 7-11 pm. This is a fun jam band that plays popular favorites and funky and fresh originals too.

Over at Crossbones Tavern, located at 114 E 5th St., Greenville, NC; Gumbo will be providing the live entertainment for this evening. And here is what they want you to know about the group:

Gumbo originated in Greenville North Carolina. Gumbo embraces all types of genres and cultures. They are known for there unique sound and spontaneous lyrics. The band is fairly new, two years in and has created a buzz through eastern North Carolina.

GUMBO is a band that embraces diversity but brings about unit.

Along the Coast:

Reggae music makers, from Carteret County,  Monjah will perform live at Idle Hour Biergarten located at 121 E Atlantic Blvd, Atlantic Beach, NC. They will be jamming from 6-9 pm.

A quick head’s up to my New Bern readers, this band will be making their New Bern debut at The Brown Pelican next Saturday and I hope you are on hand to make them feel welcome. They jam to classic reggae tunes and off their own unique vibe when featuring their original vibe.

Now look, I told you about the Pirate Invasion going down in Beaufort all weekend in my last installation, but what most of you don’t know about is there is a Pirate invasion of another sort taking place tonight at Frank & Clara’s  located at 1440 Saltier Path, Atlantic Beach NC. New Bern’s own band of pirates Zen Pirates will take over the stage from 10 pm – 1 am. They play many familiar tunes and have a great way of making the crowd dance. Perhaps it is the threat of walking the plank that gets the people grooving, but I am more willing to bet that it is their good grooves.

Looking around the Morehead City way there are a few shows for you to check out. Here are your options:

 

4EverAll has a live show at The Brandywine Country Club, located at 177 Brandywine Blvd., Morehead City, NC. They will be performing in the K Bar from 6-9 pm. This acoustic duo has a lot of charm and play off each others’ energy well; delivering a great mix of singer/songwriting classics. Dark Water Rising have a show at Off the Hook located at 105 South 7th St., Morehead City, NC. They will be rocking the room from 10 pm til 1 am!

Heading over the bridge and checking out things around Beaufort, NC; you can enjoy the sounds of you can check out Victor Hudson & 13 live tonight on the Deck from 6-9 pm at Queen Anne’s Revenge located at 510 Front St, Beaufort NC.

The Phantom Playboys will be at the Cru Bar & Wine Store located at 120 Turner St., Beaufort, NC. They will be rocking the room for Pirate Invasion from 8:30 – 11:30 pm.

Looking at other areas along the coast, you can enjoy a one night stand with New Bern’s own soulful crooner, Backseat Romeo. Ed Prophet has a show tonight from 7-10 pm at The Carolina Wine Mixer, located at 8700 Emerald Dr., Emerald Isle, NC.

Mike Corrado has an acoustic show this evening at Harrika’s Brew Haus located at 911 Cedar Point Blvd., Cedar Point, NC. His show is slotted for 7-10 pm.

Wild Honey has a show tonight at the Odgen Tap Room located at 7324 Market St., Wilmigton, NC  with their show starting at 7:30 pm.

The last show I found to tell you about along the coast is actually the first show slotted on the day and it is that of David Adam Byrnes who will be performing live at The Snead’s Ferry Shrimp Festival today at noon. That event is taking place at 126 Park Lane, Sneads Ferry, NC.

James Ford Trio will be on the Deck at the DoubleTree by Hilton, located on South Front Street in New Bern, NC. They offer live music on the deck from 2:30 – 5:30 and this week you are in for a local talent that is going to treat you to all of his great grooves. Ford is a very talented player and is working hard at inscribing his name throughout town as a player and a business owner.

Live at five around town you can be a part of the 7th Annual Hot Buttered BBQ. Here is the lowdown on this event:

Hey friends, the Hot Buttered BBQ is back. Our friend and musical guru Aaron Lee Tasjan will be back to amaze and inspire. This year he’s bringing his band, which is made up of some of the hottest players in Nashville. The Grits will play a set, Aaron and his band will play a set, followed by a Grits-Tasjan band super jam

We’ll be passing the hat, so ALL WE ASK is that you bring a donation for our musical guest. Aaron is a professional musician, so this is how he makes his living, and we want to make sure its worth the trip for him. We are asking for a $15 donation per person, but feel free to contribute as much as you are able.

We’ll be cooking a pig and serving all the fixins. All you need to bring for sustinence is your own beverage.

This is meant to be a party for adults. Though this is a safe and friendly event, we kindly ask that you leave your kids at home. If you feel the need to bring them, it is the expectation that they be supervised at all times.

Please RSVP to this event so we can order enough food.

3DayWeekend will be rocking Monette’s on Old Cherry Point Road, New Bern NC. They are going to be helping longtime friend and fan to the band, Mary Shine, celebrate her birthday. Sharpay’s fraternal twin and a self-delusional ‘star in the making. Although he possesses a diva exterior, he yearns to change.

Gabriella Montez:
The new girl in school. Eventually becomes Troy’s romantic counterpart. Pretty, shy, and smart.

Taylor Mckessie:
The competitive head Brainiac of the school and President of the Science Club. Taylor has a hidden soft spot for Chad, which she hides.

The last live show I have to share with you on the week is taking place at The Outpost Saloon located at 3038 Richlands Highway, Jacksonville, NC. That is where you can dance and boogie down to the country sounds of Gene Gregory live from 5-8 pm.
